View Full Version : Some Tracking Improvements Needed

Hi

Am I the only one that thinks our various tracking abilities need some improvements.

My suggestions would be

1) Make the skill track all of one type of mob in the area for five minutes (after which you need to re-apply the buff) really annoying and time consuming to track mob, kill, track kill etc etc. Either this or remove the cooldown on the skill

Also make it so you cant track a mob thats already tapped. So many times I have tracked a mob for miles and then got there to find someone beating it to death, so annoying!

I also think that find the path shouldnt untoggle when you go into combat (from a roaming mob) and should only be disabled when you initiate combat.

Anyone share these views ?

I agree with you about tracking tapped mobs. As for the other suggestions not sure - in particular I think it would make it too easy to clean up an area if you could just track all of a type of mob at once. I personally find tracking, kill, tracking, kill... quite a relaxing pass-time :D

Hehe me too, and I do like the Tracking animation for some reason.

I think if the tracking skill is changed it would be useful to make the names of the creatures you can track color coded in the tracking list by level, just like in the main screen

If they change the tracking skills at all, I would like to be able to track mobs that currently can't be seen. Like Worms and Giants. Its so frustrating not being able to scan for these.

I know it was unrealistic, but I did like the way tracking worked on the Hunter in World of Warcraft. All those dots on my minimap made it a lot easier to plan my route to get the kills more quickly, and to avoid mobs hiding just over the brow of the hill. ;)

I find the current version quite useable, but it does need a few tweaks as others above have mentioned.

Id just like to know which mobs are closest to me and which are furthest away.If the list generated atm is done in such a way then they need to make that clear.

I believe the higher a name up the list the closer it is to you.

Is that true?

Well I think so, whenever I track a name at the top of the list they always seem to be standing right next to me :p

im a lvl 45 hunter and our traking skills are the best part of our class.
Yes the further up the list the mob is the closer it is too you.
We CAN track stealthed creatures all ready, they simply come up in the regular track window, from my experience the only things we cannot track are giants for some reason, if you get your enhanced tracking skill you can then track twice as far and you get the ability to spot anything in stealth (as long as its close to or below your level)
if you added something saying you couldnt track previously tagged mobs that would have a very bad affect on tracking players in MP, also whats to say they werent tagged when you tracked them but by the time you got there they were?
Our tracking skills a brilliant and do not need any changes at all.
