crossbow skill lvl req to high?

first off all hello all that are you there in middle earth ^_^
now for the serious business..

why can't i use crossbows at lvl 15-20 and have to wait till i am lvl 30 before i can get the skill?

my weapon crafter can make crossbows for lvl 10 guys =/
crossbows are easier to shoot then bows.
so is it just me or is it a bit weird that especially a hunter has to wait till lvl 30 for the skill?

please someone explain to fargon, my hobbit hunter why he can't shoot people with crossbows =/

oh and read over the spelling mistakes i am dutch my word some how didn't have spell checker for english and gmail might not be that good for a spell check =p

hunters get xbow at 30 if i remember correctly
yet the lowest xbow is like lvl 7 or something (ash xbow)
is there any class at all that can use xbows at that lvl?
if no, then those low lvl xbows are completely useless

Only 30+ Hunters and Guardians can use crossbows, so yes, the low level ones are entirely useless, which I find completely baffling. Learning to use a crossbow to do damage isn't much harder than a longbow - in fact it's easier, you just point and shoot.

And how come Champions get to learn longbow at 20, but not crossbow at all?

The whole thing makes no sense to me. Would have been easier if they'd just left crossbows out altogether...

I had a look at a few crossbows, damage was less and they incured some sort of -% on your stats, thought no point in that, ill just use my sexy bow I got for 10 silver which is 9.0 DPS / 2+ against insects and 1% critical chance . . . bargin

at what crossbow did you look =X?
the once i make are sort of a 2h version of a bow ( slower but stronger) and have a -5% to block meaning if your enemy has 10% block chance on your hots only 5% counts o_o at least thats what i think it does =p. since you can't block with a crossbow anyway it would be weird it the block chance was on your self

So you can shoot a swarm of stinging gnats even BETTER with that bow than any other? :D I think it's quite a good feat to damage anything in the swarm with a bow'n'arrow :P

Hm, yes it doesnt make sense that u can use crossbows from lvl30 on.
the differences i've noticed between crossbow and bow are that when i use a crossbow the enemy starts blocking more often than when i use a bow. adv of the crossbows are that its higher dmg output per shot and u use less skills which means u use less power.

Lliane, on the use of less skills, does the cross bow have all the bow skills available to it? just end up using less due to higher damage output, and thus enemy dying faster?

yeah u can use all skills with the crossbow same as with bow.

Question is if the Elven Trait +2% BOW-Damage also works on CrossBOWs ?

At 30 i took the Crossbow and i love it.
On the other (RP-)side: Elf with crossbow ? uhm...

A well deseved bump for a worthy topic!

I just made a Smooth Ash Crossbow (lvl 16 purple single-use recipe) for my little hobbit hunter and found out to my shock that despite crossbows being in game with lvl 5+ requirements, I don't actually learn to use it until at level 30, even as a hunter!

Could you please just remove the crossbows completely if they are below level 30, or at least allow hunters to use them sooner!
