As seems to be the taste in the other class forums, and very shortly (just over 48 hours to be precise) we shall be loosing our arrows alongside each other, I will begin an introduction thread.

I am Kaii, a hunter by choice and I have arrived here after spending the last 2 years attempting to bring about the demise of the burning legion.

Time to kick back, relax, and put an end to hardcore raiding 6 nights a week, let's have some storyline to follow.

Being totally honest, I'm not a fan of LoTRO, never read the books, never seen the films. I'm sure some will believe that to be a cardinal sin, but that will be rectified in the very near future. I'm thinking I'll go the book way, should be nice to read alongside playing out the game.

Anyway, living in the UK, work full time 9-5, late 30's. Been playing on-line games about 10 years, a mix of fps (SoF,SoF2,RTCW,ET,UT,CS,CS:S...blah) and mmorpg (Myth of Soma,Lineage2,WoW).

Joining this game with an old friend (and maybe 1 or 2 more if we can convince em) from clans/guilds of old and will be on the normal (Snowbourn I think) server.

Planning on going ahead with starting up our own kinship/guild and will be looking out for suitable members in the not too distant future; look us up if you're a (cough) mature and sensible (cough) gamer :)

Like u im a former wow player and 30 yrs old *still young j/k* and from Denmark constant raiding etc and 2 yrs of it made me give my account to my kid, simply got bored of it.

Im interested in starting a guild, havent decided what class to play yet..but i had hunter / champion in mind.

What server will u be playing on ??

We'll be on the first normal server that goes up - I think it's called Snowbourn.

Putting a guild website/portal together at the moment, which for the time being is just a basic forum. Coding PHP and site functionality is my thang!! Graphical design is not, so it will come together slowly, especially considering the next few weeks will be spent mostly discovering this new game, but I'm in no rush :)

Howdy Doody folks.

Another 30 something here. I AM a fan of the books though not as "hardcore" as many in game will be. I am not fluent in Elvish for a start!

Living in Wales (so I should in theory have no trouble pronouncing the Elven stuff even If I dont know what it means.

Like the OP, holding down a 9 to 5 for 5 out of 7.

This will be my second MMO game and it looks like being WAAAYYY different and more complex than my current one which is City of Heroes (yep, one of the rare folk in the world here who has never even SEEN a screen of WoW never mind played it.)

My Hunter will be a Hobbit and I am aiming to play him on the English lnguage RP server (forget the name right now).

I will also have some other alts on the "normal" servers so may well see you folks in game!

Played Paladin, Monk & Ranger in EQ, Scout in DAOC & Ranger Monk in Guild Wars.

The LOTR class design(s) looks good, and I played a Hunter to 40 in Beta - it was FUN - though I hit some troublesome spots here & there.

Just remember - you are not tank!

I,ve played Elven Rangers in many fantasy Tabletop Roleplay games and Elven Rangers in NWN 1 / 2 and DAOC. I cant help myself. Since all DM's have refused to let me play Elven Rangers in LOTR tabletop, this seems my only chance to play one in this setting.. though technically, I'm a Hunter.

Hello. I'm not going to tell you how old I am and that's not the sort of question you ask a lady you young whipper-snappers ;).

I have always had an hunter/ranger in my online gaming career DAoC, SWG (I know what you're going to say - "no bows" - but I had a rifle instead, and she was a ranger) and Guild Wars. I guess I just can't be bothered with running right up to my prey in order to bash it with my virtual sword. I didn't really play too much as a hunter during beta as I wanted to be fresh to the class for early access, you know, that new and exciting feeling. I must say that the class is a joy to play and I'm still happy to be a hunter.

Hey I'm 21 and I always play a Ranger or Hunter class. I've only ever played Runscape for a short while and FFXI Which I still play now along side this game. I've never EVER play WoW and I actually don't know anyone who does. I've not even seen a screen of it. You can often find me on the English RP server (forgotten the name of it). See you in game!

Hello I am 32 years old, I played all kind of MMORPGs: SWG,CoH,Lineage2,FFXI,Eq2 and 2 years of WoW, BC bored me to much so I cancelled the account.
I have always played a melee class ( ok in SWG no I was a lousy Bounty Hunter :D ), so now I want to try the deadly Hunter :).
I have started a Human hunter, but really dont know much about the class!

This is the first mmorpg where I play a hunter.
I'v played several other mmorpg but only for a short time eg. during a 7 day trial.
The only other mmorpg that I have played for a looong time is Lineage2, which I still think is a really nice game. However I have now closed my two L2 accounts so I can play lotro full time (that is like 2-3 hours a day for me :) ).

In L2 I played Spellhowler mage, dwarf spoiler, dwarf smith, bladedancer, shillen elder, prophet, treasure hunter, gladiator but never a archer/hunter. I have played all the L2 chars to around lvl70-74 and right now where I closed down my 2 accounts I had a net worth of around 800-1000 mill adena (the currency used in L2) and thats quite much.

Enough L2 talk now :)

I decided to try lotro because I love tolkiens world. First when I started playing in the closed beta I dident like the combat system that much, but that was just because the L2 combat system is so much different then lotro combat system.

Now that I have played closed beta for around 1,5 month, I am very saticfied with the game. In closed beta I played a LM to lvl31 and the last 1-2 week's I played a hunter to lvl15 and a captain to lvl10.
After that I decided to play hunter, because they are so DAMN COOOOOL :).

I don't care if 50% of the population are hunters, I will still have a lot of fun playing my hunter.
As we speak now, I'm a lvl16 hunter and play like 2-3 hours every day.

hi all im 23 and this is my 4th mmo. i started out in MxO (The Matrix Online) which i still play i also play GW and had a little try in SWG.

I was a fan of the movies and am currently reading the books. (The Silmarilian rocked)

in MxO i played a variety of classes but mostly atm i play a ranged skill type so i thought it would be reasonable to start out here as a hunter.

In GW i have a few chars but none of them are really ranged so yeah this is really more exp of playin a ranged class for once

Yet another WoW refugee here. 32 and trying to juggle MMO's with work and going to the pub like it seems a lot of you are. Always played a warrior class in MMO's before and, true to form, started a Champion on Evernight.

Decided to try a Hunter last night and I just fell in love with the class so I can see the Elven Hunter being my new main.
