Just wondering who here are V8 Supercar fans and who they go for whether it be Ford or Holden, SBR or HRT, and so

Me im a Ford fan and go for any Ford team but mainly FPR, SBR and DJR

HRT...& I recall the days when I used to go watch the A9X's take on the GT's at Adelaide raceway..

I have been watching Bathurst since 1972..now codies have made my dream of racing at Bathurst a reality even if it is a sim..I can still take a car out for a spin round the famous track whenever I choose.. :)

Jesus Mr_Shmick, you must be old. I have been watching Bathurst since 1977 (showing my own age there, yes, those beautifull A9X's, although that was not a good year for them), and yeah, it's unreal to have a PC game where you can take our V8's around some of our great tracks.

I am a Holden man and follow most Holden teams, probably go for Brighty now he is with Team Brock, a good combination.

I'm with Mickcals I'm a Ford man. Any Ford team can win as far as I'm concerned but SBR seem to be the best Ford team atm but with FPV doing more development I can see the CAT car in particular being a lot more competitive.

It's silly that there are 6 cars under the one banner, or is it 7? HRT, K-MART and TEAM BROCK all under TWR, and not sure bout this or not but i "think" i might have heard that TKR has some relation to TWR as well (this could be not true tho). And it sh|ts me that they are frequently all, or most, in the top ten.

I think once the Ford teams get more of a grip on their new car that they will be a lot more competitive, already at the front they've given Holden a run for their money, yet the front runners in the series are all Holden. Goes with the consistency i was talking about taht Ford need to get a hold of.

I'm a Ford man also!! Unfortunately since I live in the USA, I don't get to see the races until November when NASCAR, CART and IRL are done. :(

26-04-2003, 02:29 AM
Yeah but at least when you see them you get one each day.

I remember at the end of last year Fox Sports had a V8 Supercars marathon like showing, where they showed four rounds very early in the morning

I like both Ford and Holden but lean more towards Holden a little, well any underdog Holden that is. The only thing I cant stand is HRT. There unlimited budget has there cars that far ahead that nearly any of the V8 drivers could get in the #1 commodore and win, dont get me wrong Scaife is a great driver Brock was a great driver but they have done nothing that any other decent driver could have done if given the same car..............

I like both Holden and Ford products. I own a Ba Ford Fairmont Ghia v8 in Deep Ford blue pearl, according to ford head office in victoria 1 of the first produced of the Barra Model. As for Holden of which is also not a bad product, I dislike the vy as for I drove the series 1 Clubsport R8 when about to buy my vehicle and found it to be lessor in ride/handling and overall build quality compared with the Barra Ford product. Also the vy rear end styling treatment is a step backwards from the vx series and the interior dash layout isn't up to scratch. I have also been told of numerous reports concerning the Chevrolet Ls1 product to be bodgey having many an owner within the first few weeks of ownership have their motors blow up due to oil starvation problems - 13,000 in total since the introduction of it nestled in the vx series 2 Commodore. I have owned a few Holden products in the past; 1968 Holden Monaro gts bathurst edition metallic blue with black vinyl trim coupe - 327 4 spd, 1988 Vl Holden Commodore Berlina Turbo sedan, Vr v8 executive sedan etc... and have driven numerous Holden products such as; Vc/vh/vk/vl Brock edition Commodores. The au series of the Fords is to Ford what the vy is to Holden, a mistake. Both manufacturers make products @ one time or another of similar quality, but I find alot of people from both camps - Holden/Ford that get lost and cannot see past their own discrepancies. I have been watching the Bathurst races since 1976 and its a highlight of the race calender. People working within the automotive sector have stated that Bathurst is the best race track in the world considering it has a mixture of everything. I would personally like to see a format such as of the days when you had the bigger more powerful Fords and Holdens racing alongside the Toranas and Minis etc. Something for everyone then! I have completed the Bathurst track in V8 supercars in the Ford au and vx Commodores in 1:49's and using the Koenig c62 a scintillating 1:38.52. The Koenig was running a very hot weather formation. In the storm conditions in the Koenig c62 I have run a 1:48 flat. Cannot wait for the series 2 installment of V8 supercars.

I would just like to say to codemasters that I am appalled that they would even consider releasing v8 2 without releasing it on PS2. I own many codemasters games all CM rally games TOCA etc & don't know why they have decided to do this however, if it is not released I plan to boycott any further codemaster and atari games. Who is with me

Don't really care either way, I just enjoy watching good racing (no i'm not talking about you Russell and Mark) It was good to watch Skaife not (and Ford finally) win the championship though.
The only time I become really passionate is when 'Uncle' Jim Richards is racing. One of last season's highlights for me was when Jim stuck it up the inside of Steven in turn One at Bathurst (also the ribbing which Steven apparently gave the ol' man when they got back to the pits).
I am really excited about the prospect of the two of them together. Larry Perkins showed that you can lose the pace, but Jim can just jump in anything and be on the pace immediately, no matter the car.

i like ford and holdens equally but hate everything else, as for he v8's i go for ford Larkham motor sport and DJR but i have stopped supporting FPR because i cant stand looking at those awful black wheels i dont like sbr too much for some reason, they should supply fpr with engines

20-03-2004, 02:22 PM
I've loved fords since I was knee high.SBR are the frontrunners as far as the teams go.The results speak for themselves.I also like lowndes, he'd go alright if they could get his car running fine for a whole race.

Buy a Ford and you buy the 'best'. Drive a mile and walk the rest.

SPEED KILLS
Drive a Ford and live forever.

Q: How do you double the value of a Ford?
A: Put gas in it.

Q: How much wood could a Ford ute haul if a Ford ute could haul wood?
A: As much as the Holden ute towing it.

Yep it's true Holden's are better than Fords.

You Holden guys are really showing your Intelligence

Skaife 30
25-05-2004, 10:01 PM
HAHA F%&K Ambrose all he knows how to do is punt a few blokes off and win by 20 seconds. If Skaife got the chance to keep up with him when AVESCO finally make things fair for Holden, Ambrose wont stand a chance. Look at Barbagallo in the first race he punts off skaife. Second race he punts Ingall off (his own teammate)and i didnt see the third race, but i bet he managed to find someone to punt off. Holdens rule and remember. F%$K Ambrose

07-06-2004, 06:23 AM
Skaife 30, You are an idoit, You have so many things wrong with that post you should think about what your saying or get a clue before you say anything the race where ambrose hit skaife was because SKaife was being a knob as he was at Eastern creek last year and the race was at Hidden Valley in Darwin you fool not Barbagallo, thats the round coming up. Ambrose made an error and hit ingall off, but all drivers make errors just like skaife who makes a **** load of them.

Remember project blueprint? I suppose you dont becuase you are too stupid, It was rules avesco brought it to bring the Ford aerodynamics (thats air movement) to the same as the holden because they where so different and unfair, now that they are even aerodynamics you can see that Holdens arent that great anymore.

Jeez you give a bad name to holden fans

I'm from Europe, i don't have any chance to watch V8Supercars, but i'm very interested in it. I could only check the results on www sites, that is everything.
Could you tell me, did I have chance to watch some races?
Maybe someone recorded it, and could share with me?
