However, dropped connections are not the only problem here. The lag on most hosts is so bad that for a lot of the time you can't even change rate of fire, reload, or even select any weapon at all. Much of the time, the lobbies are bugged and so some people can't ready up in the first place. I spend about half of my time online being invincible as a result of the lag.

I see no improvement in the functionality of the matchmaking system. 'Quick match' is still the only reliable way to get into any lobby at all.

I wouldn't have nearly so much time to come on here and whinge if the network (I'm not talking about the host) didn't kick me off after every match.

Having said all of that, MP games with up to six players can now be real fun, as long as all of those players have pings of less than 200. If we could successfully browse for servers that are closer to us, I suspect many of the problems would be solved, apart from 32 player matches. The bigger matches are something to aim for in the future.
