In-car view is out... really?

i read this on eurogame.net: "In-car view is out, after Codemasters' research discovered that 95 per cent of players use chase or bonnet cameras to play."

plz someone tell me is not true... inside cam view was one of the best thing and experience of grid..

I hope too, in-car view was one of the best features of grid, with all relative movements inside/outside etc...

if is true they cut off at least the a good 30% of the old game experience...

I understand why DiRT Showdown didn't have an in-car view.. but for a proper racing game.

Anyway this hasn't been confirmed by Codemasters yet, so hopefully it won't be true.

if the cockpit view is missing for me this game start with the wrong foot...
I care so much, and all the pro-gridders i know use with wheel mostly this view !!

It's out, NO cockpit view in GRID 2, because according to Codemasters 95% of the players don't use it and they think they can use the time and resources better on other features of the game.

As a long term fan, I really don't see the logic behind this.

I was so excited for this game, every aspect looks literally brilliant. But then I got halfway through that review...

I only use cockpit view, and really struggle to use anything else but it. There is nothing else like it that gives me the same sense of realism. I don't see it as driving if you're not actually in the car. What is the point of racing if you are not in the car, and in control? This is so disapointing for what seemed like the perfect game. I will still get it no doubt, but it will NEVER be the same without including that view. You wouldnt make a game with only cockpit view and refuse to let people use the outside views, so why do it the other way around?

Please codemasters, I don't care if it delays the game by half a year, I want cockpit view!

Agree man !!! is too important aspect for a racing game !! cockpit view of grid1 was so special, i don't know how describe but this feature on grid1 was simply a world ahead compared to other racing games !!

I'm sure this is untrue anyway, I think it would be much more than that. I'm so disapointed with some of the decisions codemasters have made recently...

the true is in this way the development is more cheap.

All old gridders i know use inside cockpit view cam, and with wheel is almost mandatory !

Are not 5%, everyone i know use inside cam ! outside cam is good only for crashderby. This is another showdown masked..

agree richard...sad but true, i wait so long this game and just started with the wrong foot.

Head on WMD portal.... if 2013 must be, without this basic feature as cockpit view.. the only name that deserve something is p.cars..

...**bleep** cockpit view of grid1 was simply the best on racing games, the reason for a so special driving feeling !!

I'm not a big fan of **c-bleep**-pit view, but other players I race with are. Flatout 2 was missing cockpit view, so Shadow redid the camera file and gave Flatout 2 cockpit view, Players are wanting cockpit view in the new Carmageddon:Reincarnation, players are upset that cockpit view is not in the new DIRT Showdown.

I wonder if the survey only ask console players? On the PC, cockpit view is popular. Is this going to be another feature lost to the consolizing of PC games? Will manual gears be missing too, since not a majority of players use manual gears?

What an absolutely ridiculous decision... I cant play any racing game without cockpit camera. I cant believe they are doing this.

But don't blame consoles, I play on xbox and I would never use anything but the inside view.

Yeah it is like I said earlier every sequal of a game is a step back and easier then the first one just to feed the big crowd and sell as much as possible.

Is it possible on this forum to make a poll?

I like to see how many people want to have cockpit view, I bet it is more then the 5% they say it is, atleast on pc.
